Baker's Transport

Bakers recognises the skill and responsibility of each of our heavy vehicle drivers and in doing so understand the responsibilities and commitment that Baker Group have to their employees.

Our drivers are an integral part of our organisation hence great importance is placed upon their training. We currently have long term drivers who have been employed by Bakers back in the landscaping days over 15 years ago

All Bakers heavy vehicle drivers, be it permanent or full time are inducted through our internal Company Policy and Procedures Program, which includes.

Premedical test
Driver awareness testing
Driver Training, site-specific situations
Training in Company Policy and Procedures, inclusive of their OHS&E obligations
Daily Pre-start checking of the vehicle they are in control of
Their responsibilities to other road users
Their responsibilities in and around Public, the environment and Customer Service.

All drivers are assessed prior to being offered an opportunity to work at Bakers.

Following the initial assessment our COR Manager maps out and discusses any ongoing training with the driver and our drivers Supervisor. Continued training is supported by our Management Team.

Baker's Civil, Crushing and Screening

Baker Civil Engineering covers a full range of Civil Construction Projects including but not limited to Bulk Earthworks, Land Fill, Crushing, Screening and Sieving operations

As with all parts of the Baker Group’s operations our management systems have refined the way we do things this included the engagement of the Groups Construction Manager, Malcolm Small.

Malcolm works closely with our project teams supporting operations and resource management providing his in-depth expertise in urban and industrial land development with the combination of site remediation best practice

Together, as a group Bakers we have keen problem-solving skills, construction and technical knowledge and his communication skills that enables Bakers to work quickly and efficiently through site issues.

Baker Group has a current Enterprise Agreement in place. We have undergone regular updates in negotiation with our company Employers endeavoring to maintain code compliant and be able to offer best value for money to our clients.

Baker's Workshop

Baker Group has taken all the necessary steps to establish management systems, business structures and operational facilities, including a standalone workshop which is a Fully Accredited RMS Heavy Vehicle Safety Check Station equipped with brake roller tester and shaker allowing our mechanics to perform detailed compliance road worthiness inspections.

Baker Groups workshop manager, Luke Baker started with the organisation in 2010 after completing his trade as a high-performance motor mechanic he forms a strong link as to how the workshop and transport entities function

This is a testament to our integrity, reliability and commitment as a trading partner within our industry sector, ensuring our customers are confident we maintain compliance under the current WH&S, EPA and RMS acts (N.H.V.A.S, Mass, Maintenance, Fatigue) codes of practice and Chain of Responsibility, The Baker Group fleet of trucks are also PBS and SPECTS code compliant all of which supports our reputation.
